- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
2. Add warm milk and melted butter, stirring until a dough begins to form.
3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Prepare the Filling:
1. In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion becomes soft.
3. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Assemble the Rolls:
1. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces.
2. Roll each piece into a small circle.
3. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each circle.
4. Fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges together to seal it into a bun shape.
5. Arrange the stuffed rolls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake the Rolls:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over each roll.
