- 2 cups milk, divided
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4-5 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. - Prepare the Ground Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside. - Make the Sauce:
In a saucepan, whisk together 1/2 cup of milk and the flour until smooth. Gradually add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of milk, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste. - Assemble the Casserole:
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish.
- Spread half of the sliced onions over the potatoes.
- Add half of the cooked ground beef.
- Pour half of the sauce over the layers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, onions, beef, and sauce.
- Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes. Remove the foil and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Serve:
