Crispy Cheddar Chicken Recipe

This crispy cheddar chicken is a delicious, easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions. The combination of tender chicken, melted cheddar cheese, and crunchy Ritz cracker coating makes it a favorite for the entire family. Here’s the step-by-step recipes

Ingredients:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 1 cup, finely crushed)

2 large eggs

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Non-stick cooking spray or 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or a little butter.

2. Prepare the coating: In one shallow bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. In a second shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Place the shredded cheddar cheese in a third bowl.

3. Prepare the chicken: Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. If desired, you can cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create thinner pieces for faster cooking.

4. Coat the chicken:

Dip each piece of chicken into the cheddar cheese, pressing gently so the cheese adheres to the surface.

Next, dip the cheese-coated chicken into the egg mixture.

Finally, coat the chicken in the crushed Ritz crackers, ensuring it is evenly covered.

5. Arrange in the dish: Place the coated chicken breasts into the prepared baking dish, leaving a little space between each piece.

6. Bake: If desired, drizzle the chicken with melted butter or lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray for extra crispiness. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the crust is golden brown.

7. Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Tips:

For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cracker mixture.

If you don’t have Ritz crackers, substitute with panko breadcrumbs or another buttery cracker.

To save time, prepare the coating mixture ahead of time and store it in an airtight container.

Enjoy this Crispy Cheddar Chicken recipe with your loved ones, and watch it become a favorite at your dinner table!
