These homemade buns are incredibly soft, fluffy, and perfect for sandwiches, burgers, or as a side dish. With a slightly sweet and buttery flavor, they are sure to be a family favorite!
Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
Instructions:
1. Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, mix warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
2. Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
3. Knead the Dough:
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If needed, add a little more flour to prevent sticking.
4. First Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
5. Shape the Buns:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Divide it into 12 equal portions and roll each into a smooth ball. Arrange them on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each bun.
6. Second Rise:
Cover the buns with a cloth and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes until they are puffy.
7. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
8. Cool and Serve:
Let the buns cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Enjoy your homemade soft and fluffy buns!
