Lime Mousse Recipe

Ingredients

– 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
– 1 can evaporated milk (12 oz)
– 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
– Zest of 2 limes
– 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
– 1/4 cup cold water
– Optional: additional lime zest for garnish

Preparation

  1. Prepare the Gelatin:
    – In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water.
    – Let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
    – Microwave the bloomed gelatin for about 10-15 seconds until completely dissolved.
  2. Blend the Ingredients:
    – In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, freshly squeezed lime juice, lime zest, and the dissolved gelatin.
    – Blend until smooth and well combined.
  3. Chill the Mousse:
    – Pour the mixture into serving glasses or a large bowl.
    – Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set and firm.

    – Before serving, garnish with additional lime zest if desired.
