I am elated to unveil a cherished recipe that has been transferred to us through the ages within our family.; This dish has comforted us on cold winter nights has been the centerpiece of many a family gathering and has always left us feeling full and satisfied. I’m talking about none other than Homemade Lasagna.

WHAT INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR EASY HOMEMADE LASAGNA:

Lasagna Noodles: A sturdy pasta noodle that holds up well in the oven and provides the base for our dish.

Ground Beef: A rich and savory flavor that adds depth and texture to the lasagna.

Tomato Sauce: A tangy and slightly acidic sauce that balances out the rich flavor of the beef and provides the base for the lasagna.

Ricotta Cheese: A creamy and smooth cheese that adds creaminess and a mild flavor to the lasagna.

Mozzarella Cheese: A melted and gooey cheese that provides the classic stretch and flavor that we all love in lasagna.

Parmesan Cheese: A sharp and salty cheese that adds depth and flavor to the lasagna.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE LASAGNA:

Get your oven up to temperature at 375°F before you begin cooking.

Boil the lasagna noodles as per the package’s instructions and then remove any moisture.

A spacious skillet is ideal for browning the ground beef until it reaches a fully cooked state. Utilizing medium heat drain any surplus grease after the process is complete.

Ensure that the tomato sauce salt garlic and pepper are evenly distributed throughout the skillet by giving it a thorough stirring.

Prepare a distinct mixture of ricotta salt parmesan and pepper by combining them in an isolated dish.

Coat the base of a 9×13-inch baking dish with a skimpy amount of the tomato sauce combination.

Arrange the lasagna noodles in a multi-layered design numbering three or four above the sauce and place the cheese mixture on top of the noodles.

Keep repeating the steps until every component has been utilized and finish it off with a sprinkle of cheese on top.

Wrap the food in a sheet of aluminum foil and place it in the oven set to the desired temperature. Cook for a quarter of an hour.

Without the foil continue baking for 25-30 minutes more until the cheese has become melted and acquired a golden brown color.

  • Don’t overcook the noodles! Overcooked noodles will become mushy and break apart in the lasagna.

  • Give the lasagna a moment to cool down for a period of 10 to 15 minutes before plating it this will allow the flavors to settle and the lasagna to firm up making it easier to cut and serve.

INGREDIENTS  

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 ounce crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Start by getting your oven preheated to 375°F.
  • Take a large frying pan and cook the ground beef or Italian sausage until it is fully cooked. Get rid of any extra oil by draining it.
  • Include diced onion and minced garlic in the pan and continue cooking until the onions turn a translucent color.
  • Mix in crushed tomatoes tomato paste basil oregano salt and pepper to the pan and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Cook the lasagna noodles as per the instructions on the packaging and drain.
  • In a separate bowl blend together the ricotta cheese and egg.
  • Using a spatula evenly distribute a light layer of meat sauce in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  • Arrange three previously cooked lasagna noodles on top of the meat sauce.
  • Layer half of the blended ricotta cheese on top of the noodles and then sprinkle a cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over it.
  • Repeat the layering process with another three noodles the remaining ricotta mixture and another 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • Place the final three noodles on top followed by pouring the remaining meat sauce over them.
  • Distribute the final amount of mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the dish.
  • Encase the pan with aluminum foil and let it bake for a duration of 25 minutes.
  • After 25 minutes remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden in color.
