Creamy Creole Sauce for Seafood

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Creole mustard (or whole grain mustard)
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (optional, for extra spice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
  2. Add the Creole mustard, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, mixing well.
  3. Stir in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and Cajun seasoning (if using).
  4. Add the lemon juice and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve with seafood such as shrimp, fish, crab cakes, or fried oysters.
