Warm & Sweet Blackberry Cobbler 🍇

Buttery, golden crust meets juicy, sweet blackberries in this crowd-pleasing dessert.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1½ cups sugar (divided: 1 cup for batter, ½ cup for berries)
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • Pour the melted butter into a 9Ă—9-inch baking dish or similarly sized oven-safe dish.
    • In a bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour, 1 cup of sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter—do not stir.
  3. Add the Blackberries:
    • Toss blackberries with the remaining ½ cup sugar.
    • Spoon the sugared blackberries evenly over the batter—again, do not stir.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is set in the center.
  5. Serve:
    • Let cool slightly, then serve warm—perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
