Ingredients:
- 1 box yellow or white cake mix
- 1 (21 oz) can strawberry pie filling
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and one egg (as directed on the cake mix package) to create a thick batter.
- Spread about two-thirds of the batter evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the pan.
- Spoon the strawberry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, distributing it evenly.
- Drop small spoonfuls of the remaining cake batter on top. It doesn’t need to completely cover the surface.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars and serving.
