Ingredients
Mozzarella onion rings baked in the oven. Serves: 4 people.
Cut two big onions into rings that are 1/2 inch thick.
8 ounces of mozzarella cheese, cut into strips.
1 cup of regular flour
2 eggs, whisked
1 cup of bread crumbs
1 teaspoon of powdered garlic
1 small spoon of paprika
Add salt and pepper according to your preference.

Preparation
Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the onion into rings and keep them to the side. Put a mozzarella stick inside an onion ring, then add another ring around it. Keep doing this until all the onion rings are stuffed with cheese.
Prepare a breading station with three bowls: one for the flour, one for the eggs, and one for the breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Put each onion ring filled with mozzarella into the flour, making sure it is completely covered. Next, dip it in the whisked eggs, and then cover it with the breadcrumb mix.
Place the onion rings covered in batter on the baking sheet that has been prepared. Spray them lightly with cooking spray to make them crispy when baking.
Cook in the oven that has been preheated for 15-20 minutes, until the outside is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the onion rings cool down for a bit before you eat them. Enjoy them hot with the sauce you like best!
Different Types and Advice
For a new taste, use panko breadcrumbs to add a crispy texture. You can also try different types of cheese, like provolone or pepper jack, which would be tasty options. If you are cooking for people who are very selective with food, you can leave out the spices or offer different sauces for the onion rings so that everyone can choose their favorite. To make it gluten-free, use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs instead.
