Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe




 

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup warm water

1/4 cup softened butter or margarine

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 large egg

A pinch of salt

 


Instructions

1. In a small cup, combine the milk and vinegar to create buttermilk. Set aside for a few minutes.

2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well to combine.

3. Add the egg, softened butter, vanilla extract, prepared buttermilk, and warm water to the dry ingredients.

4. Gently fold the mixture using a spatula or whisk until the batter is smooth and fully combined. Avoid overmixing.

5. Pour the batter into a greased and parchment-lined 8-inch round baking tin.

6. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
