- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) — optional for extra heat
For the Spicy Mayo Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1-2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp honey (optional for a touch of sweetness)
For Garnish:
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatballs:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, egg, breadcrumbs, green onions, black pepper, and gochujang (if using).
- Mix everything well using your hands or a spatula until evenly combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-1.5 inches in size.
- Cook the Meatballs:
- Heat a bit of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Cook for about 7-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until nicely browned and cooked through.
- Alternatively, you can bake them at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-18 minutes.
- Make the Spicy Mayo Sauce:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sriracha, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and honey until smooth.
- Taste and adjust the spiciness or sweetness as desired.
- Assemble and Serve:
- Place the hot meatballs on a serving plate.
- Drizzle or dip with the spicy mayo sauce.
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
