GERAMAN POTATO PANCKAES

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Grate the potatoes using a grater or a food processor. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out excess liquid.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, chopped onion, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper. Stir well to form a uniform mixture.
  3. Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Scoop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the hot oil, flattening them into round pancakes. Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Once done, transfer the pancakes to a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Repeat the process until all the batter is used.
  7. Serve hot with applesauce, sour cream, or your favorite toppings.
