Ingredients:
2 eggs
A pinch of salt
½ cup sugar (100 g)
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
⅓ cup milk (100 ml)
1 ½ tablespoons melted butter (20 g)
Zest of 1 lemon
⅔ cup wheat flour (80 g)
1 teaspoon baking powder
4-5 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
Juice of ½ lemon
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Apples:
Peel and slice the apples thinly.
Drizzle the apple slices with the juice of half a lemon to prevent browning.
2. Make the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt until fluffy.
Add sugar and vanilla sugar, then mix well.
Pour in the milk, melted butter, and lemon zest, and whisk until combined.
Sift in the flour and baking powder. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
3. Combine and Bake:
Arrange the apple slices in a greased or lined 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pan.
Pour the batter evenly over the apples, making sure it covers them completely.
Gently shake the pan to let the batter settle.
4. Bake the Pie:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
5. Cool and Serve:
Let the pie cool slightly before removing it from the pan.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm or at room temperature.
