Ingredients:
- 2 lbs octopus, cleaned
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Zest and juice of 2 lemons
- 2 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried oregano)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cleaned octopus and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour until tender. Drain and allow it to cool.
- Once cooled, cut the octopus into smaller pieces, separating the tentacles and body sections.
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the octopus and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over high heat. Grill the octopus for 3-4 minutes per side until charred and crispy at the edges.
- Serve hot with fresh lemon wedges and a sprinkle of parsley. Enjoy this Mediterranean-inspired dish!
