Banana Bread Brownies

 

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3–4 tablespoons milk (adjust for consistency)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.

2. Prepare the Brownie Batter:
In a large bowl, beat together the sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until smooth and creamy.
Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
Fold in the chopped walnuts.

3. Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow to cool completely in the pan.

4. Make the Frosting:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 3 tablespoons of milk.
Add more milk, a little at a time, until the frosting reaches a spreadable consistency.

5. Frost and Serve:
Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled banana brownies.
Cut into squares and serve!
