Mom’s Best Cake

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 box (5.1 oz) vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Topping (optional):

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, brown sugar, white sugar, pudding mix, and cinnamon.
  3. Add eggs, water, oil, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Mix until well combined.
  4. Fold in chopped nuts if using.
  5. In a separate small bowl, mix 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, sprinkle half of the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture over it, then pour the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the topping.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and enjoy!
