Spicy Garlic Butter Shrimp

Ingredients

– 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 4 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
– 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
– Lemon wedges, for serving

Preparation

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
    – Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the Shrimp:
    – In a bowl, toss the shrimp with paprika, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Cook the Shrimp:
    – Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt.
    – Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:
    – In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    – Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Mix well to combine.
  5. Combine and Serve:
    – Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly with the garlic butter sauce.
    – Serve the shrimp hot with lemon wedges on the side.
