Ingredients:
- 2–3 organic lemons (washed thoroughly)
- 3 cups of water
- (Optional) 1 tablespoon of honey
- (Optional) A few slices of fresh ginger
Instructions:
- Prepare the Peels:
Peel the lemons carefully, trying to avoid too much of the white pith (it’s a bit bitter). You just want the yellow outer skin. - Boil the Water:
Pour the 3 cups of water into a pot and bring it to a boil. - Add the Lemon Peels:
Once the water is boiling, add the lemon peels (and ginger slices if using) to the pot. - Simmer:
Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes. - Strain and Serve:
Remove from heat, strain out the peels (and ginger), and pour the lemon-infused water into a mug. - (Optional) Sweeten:
If you like, add a tablespoon of honey for a sweeter taste. - Drink Warm or Cold:
Enjoy it warm, or let it cool and drink it like a refreshing iced tea!
